Furnace Lakes Fishery is one of the leading big carp and catfish waters in the UK. There are six lakes on the site. All the lakes hold heavy stocks of carp. Roman, Plantation and Kiln Lakes have a mixture of both carp and cats. All specimen lakes have many features with overhanging willows, Lily pads and margin growth. All lakes are weed free and have clay bottoms. Furnace has its own network of hard roads around the perimeter of each lake. All specimen lakes have woodchip pegs and some doubles. Strickly Barbless hooks only, no fixed rigs, no leadcore, no fake bait, no children under 14 years. Pleases see rules at furnace-lakes.co.uk.

Roman Lake: 14 pegs. One large island shaped like a dog bone. Carp to 46lb and catfish to 118lb. Best baits include boilies and sweetcorn over a bed of particles for carp and meat based baits for catfish.
Furnace Lake: 30 pegs. 7 acre lake with masses of hard fighting carp of all varieties, even Koiís up to the 50lb mark. New bay with social swims. Now with reduced number of pegs to allow fishing to the further bank.
Hyes Lake: Smallest of the lakes at Furnace. Two islands. Heavy stocking of carp to 30lb. Known as an easy lake to catch large amounts of carp.
Specimen Lake: 3 acre lake which has good carp stocks of commons and mirrors to 53lb. One central island. Only 8 pegs.
Kiln Lake: 17 large pegs. Seven islands with deep waters. Heavy stocks of catfish to 140lb. Carp to early 50lbs. Any boilie works well on this lake.
Plantation Lake: Stunning 6 1/2 acre specimen lake with nine islands, loads of features on this lake with 20 pegs. Deep water especially designed for big Carp and big Catfish to 150lb ish. Stocked with over 160 genuine English Carp, split between Mirrors and Commons.
