Getting There:
From the A21 [M25 junction 5 to Hastings] take the A262 [signposted Ashford and Goudhurst]. After approx 2 miles you will see a grass triangle on your left with a road leading down to the left [Spelmonden Road], turn left and the Fishery will be found after 400 yards on the left.

Elphicks Fishery is a seven-lake coarse fishing complex set in the heart of the Kent countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Purpose built by fishermen for fishermen. This is meant to be a real bag up water where the fish are ravenous. Elphicks Fishery is open 365 days a year [no close season], 7.00am to 7.00pm in the summer and 7.00am to 5.30pm in winter.

Successful tactics include float fishing maggot, pellet, corn and meat with better specimens falling to hair-rigged boilies. Some of the lakes also respond well to flaoting baits such as crust. Brief details of the 8 coarse fishing lakes are:

North Lake [adult only, non-members] - common, mirror and grass carp all over 30lb. Wel's catfish to over 50lb and pike to 25lb. Not for the faint hearted!
Plantation Lake - 12 pegs, stocked with lots of carp between 5 and 28lb. Day ticket and night fishing available
Priairie Lake - common, mirror, koi and ghost carp to over 20lb. Crucian carp, roach, rudd, golden rudd, dace, bleak, bream, barbel, perch, green tench, golden tench, blue tench, golden orfe, blue orfe, chubb, gudgeon and wel's catfish to over 20lb. Day ticket and night fishing available.
Sandwich Lake - crucian carp. roach, rudd, golden rudd, dace, bleak, bream, barbel, perch, green tench, golden tench, blue tench, golden orfe, blue orfe, chubb and gudgeon. There is also now a good head of carp to high double in Sandwich. Day ticket and night fishing available.
Kettles Lake - common, mirror, koi and ghost carp to over 20lb. Crucian carp. roach, rudd, golden rudd, dace, bleak, bream, barbel, perch, green tench, golden tench, blue tench, golden orfe, blue orfe, chubb and gudgeon. Day ticket and night fishing available.
Pullens Lake - 3 Acre, 12 swim specimen carp water, carp only to over 30lb *members only
West End Lake - 3.2 Acre, 12 swim specimen carp water, carp only from 20lb to over 30lb *members only

January 2006:
There are a limited number of memberships available for 2006, these are adult only and you must first fish North Lake. They will now allow potential members to fish both of these lakes at North Lake rates before committing to the membership. Membership costs £350 for the full year “all in”.
