Batchworth Lake has a local reputation as a big carp water, with fish up to 30lb coming out. There are about 50 pegs around the lake. The most popular swims tend to be those by the island. Amongst the regulars, opinions are divided over the merits of the ski boat that shares the facilities.
Many believe that it keeps the water moving and the food chain suspended in the water. Although the fishery has this big carp reputation there is also a shoal of big bream together with many large tench. For those looking for a days coarse fishing there are many roach, perch, skimmers and small carp to keep the float dipping down.
The fishery is closed from 15th March to 15th June. Want to add a review of Batchworth Lake?
