Tips and Tactics The carp do have a varied diet but good quality smelly boilies with usual pva tactics do work. Method feeding in the summer months can often produce large number of fish being caught. Other baits worth a try are flavoured corn in the margins, Marine Halibut Pellet and paste. The weather does effect the bigger fish in this lake and with a change to a low pressure the fishing does often slow downAs often with fishing there does seem to be noticeable feeding spells on this lake with early morning and late afternoon / early evening being the prime time especially for the bigger fish.
A large head of carp stocked mainly 5lb -15lb range with a smaller head of 20lb + fish. 28lb common largest capture.
A good head of other species ranging in size including specimen roach and perch.

Day ticket with night fishing for members.
Approximately 2.5 acres, average depths 6-7ft.
London clay bottom with gravel.
Some corners of the lake have bull rush & some weed in the margins.
Reed and tree fringed island with 2 shallower bars from the points of the island. Steep drop off from the one side of the island. Tips and Tactics Caster & maggot is usually the best bait for the specimen roach although many of the carp anglers have landed massive roach on big boilies, maize and pellet!! The island end of the island is normally more productive for the carp you can catch well off the hard bottom bars at each end of the island. As fishy as the Island does look don’t worry if you cant get in a particular swim as the carp can be found all round the lake depending on the weather and the wind. Don’t forget about the margins!
Tench are in abundance here with average sizes between 3lb - 6lb
A good head of carp stocked mainly 2lb -10lb range with a smaller head of larger fish. There are a few known big un’s still.
A good head of other species ranging in size including good numbers of roach and perch. A small head of large bream can be found feeding when the conditions are right.
The youngest lake only opened in 2000 initially designed for the match angler and pole fisherman in mind but has now been developed into a up and coming general coarse fishing lake with a good head of tench and mixed size carp. An ideal family lake for those looking to get into fishing. Day ticket with night fishing for members. A triangular shaped lake of approximately 1.5 acres, deeper in the middle than the other lakes reaching 10 foot.
A large island is present with reeds established a various points particularly the corners where shallower water is found due to the gravel bars.
London clay bottom with gravel.
There is a good mixture of reed, young trees and water weed to be found. Tips and Tactics Maggot feeder fishing can really produce a mixed bag with different species feeding at different times of the day this is a very effective tactic to catch. The design of the lake is well suited to pole fishermen don’t be afraid to use a bit of groundbait to get them really feeding hard in your swim. The fish especially the small carp are nearly always hungry and not that fussy about particular baits so don’t be afraid to experiment. There is a bit of marginal weed in the water so be careful your bait doesn’t get buried, it is a good idea to get the plummet weight out and feel for a firm clean bottom.
