LIZARD FISHERIES [OR NOT] - By Peter - 17.10.05

Peter wrote to Fish South East recently looking for some advice [yes he may well be desperate!!]. A fellow Ealing resident, he was looking to try Lizard Fisheries in Cowley, Middlesex. He was particularly interested in fishing with pellets after reading about my great success there [he's not desperate, he's just mad!!]. Anyway, after offering some crumbs of advice, this is how Peter got on.

"Paul, many thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I didn't get to take any of it up though as I arrived at Lizard at about 8ish Sunday morning and the first lake was full!! I think on one side of the lake there was a match going on [peg numbers were wrote out on cardboard and nailed to the floor]. There were spaces on the second lake but decided against it due to having read about your previous attempts on it [its all true...ed].

So, we went to Osterley Park and blanked; not so much as a sniff all day! I went for a few hours yesterday though and pulled out a couple of nice bream, so I was happy. Hopefully going to swizz the girlfriend to give me a lift back to Lizard one day in the week to give it a bash!

Ah, success!!More success!!

Edited by Paul Orford, Oct '05 - Sorry, I forgot to warn you that Lizard gets very busy at weekends. You'll just have to get there at first light next time. Thanks for the article and the pics.
